Yinson nets $2.5bn deal

Yilson Holdings has been awarded a $2.5bn charter contract for a floating production storage and off-loading vessel by Eni Ghana Exploration & Production.

The 15-year charter comes with five-yearly extension options and could be worth up to $3.25bn if all five options are taken. The FPSO is located in Ghana's Offshore Three Points Block in the Tano Basin and is expected to start in 2017.

In a separate statement, Yinson confirmed that the recently purchased VLCC Ulriken, renamed the Yinson Genesis, will be used for the project, stating that it would be converted to an FPSO.
