Vroon buys up tanker

Vroon has bought another tanker to add to its fleet.

The Dutch-owned company announced this week that it had purchased the ST Charlotte, built in 2006 from Sea-Tankers.

The 12,500-dwt bitumen/molten sulphur tanker will be renamed the Iver Ability.

Currently on charter to Total in the Atlantic basin, the Iver Ability’s next voyage is to Immingham in Great Britain where it will load a cargo of molten sulphur. The company states that Iver Ships will manage the vessel from Barendrecht, Netherlands.

The new buy will bring Vroon’s total fleet of bitumen tankers up to 12.
