Lukoil Marine Lubricants has announced it is a supplier for the world’s largest container ship, the Mediterranean Shipping Company's MSC Oscar.
In an official statement, Jan Thiedeitz, director of Lukoil Marine Lubricants congratulated MSC after the launch of the new 19,224 teu capacity vessel. “[It’s] a fantastic achievement! We are very proud to be the lubricant supplier for the MSC Oscar,” he said.
The company supplies lubricants to more than 100 vessels in the MSC fleet. The MSC Oscar has been built using Lukoil’s iCOlube; an intelligent cylinder oil lubrication unit which the company says “optimises both the performance and overall efficiency of vessel engines."
Pasquale Formisano, senior VP in MSC Geneva added: “I am more than pleased to have chosen Lukoil Marine as a supplier for this incredible vessel, and the partnership will continue with MSC’s next new vessel, MSC Oscar's sister ship MSC Oliver, which will be launched in April 2015.”
