MOL and Mitsui sign for 2 LNG carriers

Mitsui OSK and Mitsui & Co have signed a contract for two new LNG carriers.

The vessels, which will be managed by MOL, will supply LNG from a Mitsui & Co backed project in Cameron in Louisiana, U.S. to markets in Japan and other countries.

In a statement announcing the new contract MOL stated that it is working to ensure it "continues to meet customers’ needs for LNG procurement and offer safe, high-quality LNG transport services backed by the experience, know-how, and network accumulated as the world leader in LNG carrier ownership and management."
