Scorpio Tankers takes delivery of four vessels and announces charters

Scorpio Tankers has taken delivery of four newbuilding vessels, all of which are to be employed immediately.

The STI Orchard, an LR2 product tanker was delivered from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in September 2014 and will now begin a voyage for 45 days at around $30,000 per day.

MR product tanker, the STI St. Charles was completed in September and transferred from SPP Shipbuilding in South Korea. The vessel has a time charter agreed for up to 120 days at $17,000 a day.

The STI Fulham and STI Camden, both handymax ice class 1A product tankers were received rom Hyundai Mipo Dockyard of South Korea and will begin time charters for up to 120 days at approximately $14,750 per a day.

In addition, Scorpio Tankers has agreed to charter-in an LR2 product tanker that is being built in South Korea. After delivery in January 2015 the tanker will be chartered-in for one year at $21,050 per ay with an option to extend for one year at $22,600 per day.

The company now owns 44 tankers with an average age of 1.5 years, time charters-in 25 product tankers and has contracted 31 newbuilding product tankers with 17 scheduled for delivery in 2014 and 14 in 2015.
